This very generous donation will make such a difference to what we can achieve to support our Pioneers by building some very exciting partnerships.  In this context, one of of more important projects will provide one to one training and support in IT skills to the Pioneers in a way that helps them  be more independent through developing basic computer skills such as on-line shopping, making appointments, social contact and other activities.  We shall also show them how to stay safe when use online resources.  And, it has wider application  so that if we ever  find ourselves in a position, whether individually, or as a group, where we need to isolate again then they have the skills and support to keep in touch with their peers and the wider community.

A DONATION FROM THE GARRATT FAMILY TRUST

The Garratt Family Trust gave us a wonderful donation in January 2022 to help develop the range of activities we provide and to employ Louisa Thorpe as our Activities Organiser.  The GFT trustees made a special point that the work of Maldon Pioneers Association sits very firmly within their  objects of building long-term relationships with charities who support people at risk and helping them integrate with, and benefit from, being part of their community.

We also received lovely donations from the Latchingdon Spiritualist Church and The Maldon Promenaders to whom we say a very big 'Thank You'.  It is gifts like those you have given which allow us to make sure that the minibus we use for outings is maintained and insured, and the drivers properly trained.  Without this facility we would be unable to carry out many of our activities.
